Senators, Representatives, Federal Officials, I’d like to take a moment to remind you of your Oath of Office. It appears these days some folks in both elected and other official capacities may be confused to whom or what they swear support and defense. Let us remind ourselves what our oath says, shall we:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

This Oath is to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.

This Oath is not to a single individual.

This Oath is not to a political party.

This Oath is not to a philosophy.

This Oath is to the Constitution.

This Oath swears support and defense of said Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Please, before you align yourself with any single person, party, or philosophy, remember the Oath you took. This Oath above.

Those who forget their Oath, who use their office for their own personal gain, to support and empower a single individual over the Constitution, to push a party or philosophy over the Constitution will come to lose that office. This is no light matter. Look at yourself in the mirror and ask: Am I living up to the Oath I’ve sworn? If so, great! If not, you have a chance to make things right. Do so.

You owe it to yourself, your fellow citizens, your country, and most importantly, our Constitution.
